Safe Water for Improved Health and Livelihood

Context: Through the different sanitation programs, about 80% of communities in Logo, Nigeria, have committed themselves to ending open defecation and are demonstrating this through behavior change. However, these communities still lack access to safe water, being forced to travel long distances for this reason.

Solution proposed: The project seeks to provide two rural communities of 1000 people that have severe water crises, access to safe drinking water through the construction and rehabilitation of hand pump boreholes, engaging the youth in capacity building programs to maintain and repair the boreholes.
