Born and raised in Burkina Faso, Ilias Sawadogo studied Corporate Communication. Currently he is pursuing a degree in Public and International Relations. For more than 13 years, he has contributed to the promotion of children’s rights and youth participation in development processes, through his work with the Children’s Parliament and the Burkinabe Youth Parliament. Since 2011 he is committed to addressing his country’s water challenges through his involvement in the World Youth Parliament for Water. He was WYPW’s Regional Representative for Africa between 2012 and 2015. In that position, he became an advocate for intergenerational cooperation in the water sector. At present, Ilias is Assistant in charge of the Youth program at the African Department of the General Direction of Eau Vive International.
