Saniflora is an innovative technological alternative for the treatment of domestic wastewater or fecal sludge in rural and urban areas without a sewage network.
This biotechnology is based on natural degradation processes, which occur on the forest floor and in water bodies. It is a self-sustainable biological filter that attaches a vermi-filter to a planter or wetland, through which the wastewater flows and biological agents such as earthworms, a beneficial bacterial biofilm and macrophytic plants degrade the organic matter contained, sanitize the water and fix nutrients. During her pilot project, Cindy provided access to safe regenerative environmental sanitation to 2 families and improved the water quality of the community stream to 45 people.
