Founded by Young People, For Young People
believing in young wash talents
Young Water Solutions was born from a belief that young people are not only the future, they are already shaping the present. In 2015, the organisation was co-founded by 16 young and senior water professionals from 11 countries, united by a shared conviction: youth hold the ideas, the drive, and the local knowledge to tackle water and sanitation challenges in their own communities.
Since then, we have worked with more than 670 young changemakers from over 35 countries, helping them turn bold ideas into real, lasting impact. Some built social businesses, others launched community initiatives. All of them prove that with the right support, youth can lead meaningful change.
We keep our work grounded and personal. This lets us stay close to the people we serve, grow with them, and learn from them. Our strength comes not from size or hierarchy, but from community, trust, and shared purpose.
After almost 10 years, our belief in youth is stronger than ever. We spot and believe in young water talent early, and we stay for the long run. We are just getting started.
Our core team
Director
I’m Juliette, Director of Young Water Solutions and an ESSEC MSc in Entrepreneurship. I’ve spent several years building social-entrepreneurship programmes across Africa. At YWS, I build the youth-to-investment pipeline in WASH: attract talent early, turn ideas into pilots, and convert pilots into paying users. I care about proof, not noise: 250+ young changemakers supported across 30+ countries, with ventures reaching 1.2M+ people. My thesis is simple: WASH is a future-proof sector. If youth want to own their future, they should build this one. And I make sure they can find their place in it!
Programme Manager Latin America
I’m Ana, Programme Manager for Latin America. I’m also an entrepreneur and founder of Wayru, a business improving access to hygiene in Peru. I first joined YWS as a participant, then stayed to co-build the ecosystem: scouting talent, running programmes, and connecting alumni across the region. I focus on growing the pipeline of WASH entrepreneurs in Peru and beyond, and on turning our alumni network into a real community that shares jobs, funding, and know-how. My north star: practical support that helps young people test, pilot, and launch solutions that serve their communities.
Programme Manager Ghana
I’m Ekow, Programme Manager in Ghana. I’ve supported entrepreneurs and SMEs for years, and for the past two with YWS I’ve been on every step of the pipeline: from ideation in Ahafo and University Tours to facilitating the Nsupreneurs Summit. I develop the youth pipeline, activate partnerships, and help teams move from first idea to first customers. In trainings I bring high energy and keep the room moving. No one sleeps on WASH! My focus now: deepen youth and WASH programmes in Ghana so more young people actively choose this sector.
SMALL CORE TEAM, big network. we co-create with local partners and experts and work with international allies to scale our impact.
