The coastal areas of Bangladesh suffer from a very high soil and water salinity rate. Farha has developed a solar-powered desalination device capable of filtering enough water for five families per day. The filter is sold to clusters of households at a very affordable price and Farha and her team also plan to select entrepreneurs that will sell the water on which they will take a commission. During the pilot, Farha and her team sold 6 devices sold, 4 to families and 2 to entrepreneurs and thanks to them, 70 people benefited from access to clean and affordable drinking water.
